Strawberry Sherbet Recipe (for Ninja Creami)
This recipe is lower in sugar but still has great strawberry flavor.
I really enjoy making frozen sweets with whatever ingredients I have on hand. I had (and still have) a lot of frozen strawberries to use up, and I liked the idea of combining strawberries with orange in the form of Triple Sec.
Next time, I would at least double the amount of Triple Sec, because I couldn’t really taste it. I’m providing the recipe as I made it myself—just know that I highly recommend doubling it! Even though I felt like I couldn’t taste it, I do think it helped brighten up the strawberry flavor. Convenient not to have to juice a lemon to get that effect. You can also add extra orange flavor and fun textural contrast by mixing in candied orange peels.
This recipe is lower in sugar but still has great strawberry flavor. I highly recommend this strawberry sherbet for spring and summer! It would also be great in a float with lemon-lime soda. This time, I paired it with a very slightly modified form of David Lebowitz’s chocolate sorbet, which I reviewed here.

Strawberry Sherbet
Ingredients
1 ¼ cups (296 g) strawberries*
⅔ cups (162 g) milk
3 tablespoons (40 g) sugar
1 tablespoon (15 g) Triple Sec**
A pinch (0.77 g) of salt
¼ teaspoon (1.23 g) vanilla extract
Directions
Blend together all of the ingredients and pour into a clean Ninja Creami pint.
Freeze overnight (or at least 8 hours) on a flat surface.
Churn on the Lite Ice Cream setting and re-spin as needed to reach a creamy consistency.
Notes
*I highly recommend weighing the strawberries for this recipe because I did not measure them by volume. The 1 ¼ cups measurement was taken from the ice cream calculator I used and likely will not reflect the strawberries you use. If you do not have a kitchen scale, I recommend putting the ingredients in a blender and adding more strawberries a little at a time until you reach 2 full cups of sherbet.
**I only used 1 tablespoon of Triple Sec, but if you really want to taste the flavor of orange, I recommend tripling it and using 3 tablespoons. This will also make the sherbet easier to scoop right from the freezer, but it still isn’t so much that it’ll melt right away.
